” I turned 40 in a few months and that’s when “routine mammography” begins. I will not be participating in voluntarily radiated myself.
Did you know that only 22 pounds of pressure is required to rupture a tumour and mammography equipment applies 42 pounds of pressure on your breasts! Thus creating an unnecessary risk of rupturing any encapsulated cancerous tumours which could then spread malignant cells into the bloodstream.
Also, mammograms use ionizing radiation while screening for breast cancer and many studies have demonstrated that the cumulative effect of routine mammography screening may increase woman’s risk of developing radiation-induced breast cancer.
Thermography on the other hand uses infrared cameras to capture and analyze thermal information.
Because tumours can emit more heat than their surrounding tissue and can increase in temperature as time passes, thermography is useful for detecting and tracking suspicious activity.
Thermography is non invasive, there is no ionizing radiation exposure, no compression of your breast and no real risks.
I had thermography done, unfortunately I didn’t learn about it until after my biopsy but I can attest that it works well and there’s is absolutely no harm. You could clearly see my tumours in the imaging. I highly recommend thermography as your first choice and option if you’re needing to be checked out. ” @Detoxing_Dori (instagram)
After reading that I did some more digging and here’s what I found…this research only took me 30 minutes to search and type out. No need to go down the rabbit hole, just light research so you are aware before Doctors try to push unnecessary procedures. Always remember the exams Doctors take in medical school is written by the pharmaceutical board. Therefore unnecessary procedures need to be done for them to get into business with your life – Literally.
By the way before we dig in lets be clear about one thing, what pharmaceuticals and Doctors stood for when they first started is not what it is now. So when I discredit them throughout my health topic blogs, its only the current ones I am discrediting. Wealthy and Power is the only thing on their minds with no care of saving lives. I will leave this topic for another blog. OK LETS BEGIN.
Breast Cancer: a disease where cells within the breast tissue grow abnormally and uncontrollably, forming tumors that can potentially spread to other parts of the body if left untreated. This can occur for both woman and men.
Mammogram: An x-ray of the breast that helps detect breast cancer early. It’s a low-dose X-ray that can show masses, calcifications, and other abnormalities that might indicate breast cancer.
How it works:
- The patient places their breast on a flat plate.
- A compression paddle squeezes the breast.
- An X-ray machine takes a picture of the breast.
- A radiologist examines the mammogram for abnormalities.
- A mammogram can rupture a tumor in the breast. The compression used during a mammogram can cause cysts or tumors to rupture, potentially spreading malignant cells into the bloodstream.
* Only 22 pounds of pressure is needed to rupture the encapsulation of a cancerous tumor.
– Rupturing the encapsulation of a cancerous tumor means to physically break through the protective outer layer (capsule) surrounding a tumor, allowing cancer cells to potentially spread to nearby tissues – it means that tumor is “bursting” open and releasing cancer cells into the surrounding area.
What other (safe) methods can be used in place of mammograms: breast ultrasounds, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), breast self-exams (BSE), digital breast tomosynthesis (3D mammography), thermography.
Breast ultrasound: is a medical imaging test that uses sound waves to create pictures of the inside of the breast. Almost like an ultrasound during pregnancy. This method can be used during pregnancy because they don’t use radiation or dye (I think I found my winning method!)
Magnetic resonance (MRI): it uses strong magnets and radio waves to created detailed images of the breast without utilizing radiation like an x-ray does.
Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (3D mammography): is a technique that allows for viewing multiple images of the breast rather than the typical single image obtained with the conventional mammograph. (like 3D imaging during pregnancy ultrasound)
Thermography: is a non-invasive imaging test that uses an infrared camera to detect heat patterns in the breast. The test is based on the idea that cancer cells produce more heat that normal breast tissue. No use of radiation. (Another winner!)
