The Gut is the most important thing medically in the body as the soul is to our faith in God. We have to detox and strengthen the gut by changing our food habits and lifestyle; just like we need to strengthen our soul by changing our readings/interests and lifestyle. The soul needs God’s like the gut needs us.
Always remember the power of prayer. God created all the plants to be used by us for us as a way to cure and heal the body he gave us. Our body is his vessel, we are responsible in keeping our body healthy.
What is the gut? is responsible for the digestive system. It absorbs nutrients and eliminates waste. GI tract is made up of the stomach, intestines, colon, rectum, esophagus, mouth, liver, gallbladder and pancreas.
What’s another name for Gut? GI tract or gastrointestinal (GI) tract is the part of the digestive system that food and liquids pass through as they travel from the mouth to the anus.
What is leaky gut?
It is inflammation in the gut resulting in “leaks” and/or penetration of the gut by pathogens.
What is an easy way to restore our gut?
Drink Kombucha with no sugar added (my favorite is Synergy raw Kombucha), take probiotic supplements (I like Seed – look out for probiotic post), make Kimchi at home (click here for a recipe) or store bought Cleveland Kimchi.
What is Microbial Imbalances?
Having more bad microbes than beneficial ones.
What is Candida and/or Parasites?
It is a pathogenic infection that can become systemic due to leaky gut. These conditions are almost never diagnosed as candida – doesn’t fit into the western medical model-. Waste excreted by these pathogenic microbes results in becoming a breeding ground for many diseases, including digestive disorders, respiratory disorders, lowered immunity, parasitic infections, arthritis, auto immune diseases, heart disease, liver disease, kidney disease, diabetes and cancer.
What aids in developing Candida?
If you have taken antibiotics, steroids or birth control pills at any time in your life.
What are the symptoms of Candida?
Fatigue, exhaustion, brain fog, unclear thinking, poor memory, headaches, migraines, insomnia, autism, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, depression, anger, mood swings. Cravings for sugar (including fruit), alcohol, breads, pastas, vinegar and yeast containing foods. Digestive problems, including bloating, gas, constipation, diarrhea, colitis, diverticulitis, bad breath, thrush, leaky gut, malnutrition, crohn’s disease, Respiratory system problems, sinusitis, post nasal drip, chronic bronchitis, asthma, allergies and chemical sensitivities, persistent unproductive cough, skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, hives, rashes, acne, nail fungus, athlete’s foot, yeast infections, jock itch, Hormonal imbalances such as PMS hot flashes, thyroid conditions, adrenal exhaustion, low libido. Other conditions including lowered immunity, autoimmune diseases, liver congestion and/or inflammation, diabetes, tinnitus, vertigo, weight gain, swelling or edema, endometriosis, prostatitis, compromised organ function such as irregular heart beat, congestive heart failure.
** These are all curable if you change your diet and lifestyle as stated below.
Diet:
- Avoid sugar of all kinds (sugar instantly depresses the immune system) mainly processed sugars like high fructose corn syrup; alcohol, processed foods, foods with additives, pasteurized dairy except goat cheese, all forms of soy, non organic animal products, farmed fish, fried foods, canola oil, palm oil, soybean oil, sunflower oil and safflower oil.
- Eat real foods such as organic vegetables and fruits in moderation, healthy fats like olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and grass fed raw butter, sprouted grains, nuts seed and beans (except soy) in moderation, grass fed and cage free animal products, wild caught fish.
** I know the word “organic” is defined in different ways. There will be a post that will help clarify FDA and farmers wordings on their products.
Lifestyle:
- Our body needs deep regenerative sleep for proper cellular repair and detoxification and its essential for strong immune system function.
- Daily exercise such as walking, yoga, weight training, cardio workouts promotes mitochondrial health, better sleep and better metabolism.
- Detoxification such as sauna, diatomaceous earth and activated charcoal, NDF as an effective heavy metal and all chemical detox, FlorEssence Tea which is a gentle detox for the whole body.
- Most important and essential lifestyle change is stress, if you are exposed to constant stress you are depleting the body’s energy to fight off microbes which heals and regenerates the cells.
** Read Rev. Fr. Moses reflections and bulletins to help with destressing.
