Pain is a reality we all face — whether physical, emotional, or spiritual. As Christians, we are not immune to suffering. Yet, through Christ, our pain takes on deeper meaning. In moments of anguish, we remember that even Jesus, the Son of God, wept, bled, and endured agony. He did not run from pain but embraced it for the sake of love and redemption. Living through pain as a Christian means trusting that God is with us in our suffering. It means clinging to His promises, even when the road is dark. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, Paul shares God’s response to his suffering: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” This reminds us that our weakness is not the end — it is the place where God’s strength begins to shine through. Through pain, we are invited into deeper communion with Christ, who suffered for us and suffers with us. Our wounds, when surrendered to Him, can become places of healing, growth, and compassion. Pain refines our faith, shapes our character, and teaches us to rely not on ourselves, but on the God who raises the dead (2 Corinthians 1:9). Let us not waste our pain, but allow it to draw us nearer to God. May we live through it with grace, knowing that even in our darkest hours, we are not alone — Christ walks with us, and in Him, every tear has meaning. Rev. Fr. Movses Shannakian |
