Hebrew 13:5 – Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
Matthew 6:25-26 – Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink, nor about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life more that food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more value than they?
Philippians 4:11, Paul said, I have learned in whatsoever state I am in therewith to be content
Philippians 4:12 – I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.
Psalms 37:3-5 – People should trust in the Lord and take delight in Him.

I have no place to store my crops.’ “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.” “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’ “This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.”
1 Timothy 6:6 -7 – But Godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.
– Why are people not content with what they have? Money, Relationships, Location, Status, Material
– Why do people always want more?
– Is having more make you happy? Does it fulfil something lacking inside?
– Where are you going to store everything you have?
– What happens when that need or want destroys your soul?
Take a moment and think about this. At some point most people realize being content keeps your soul at peace and it makes life much easier to live and push through.
Being content only comes from your relationship with God. Being content means you have surrendered yourself to Him and have allowed Him to work in you and through you.

Do you follow your heart and live for the world or do you follow God and live for purpose?
